Kototoki(Kottoki) / box ring

A ring with a mechanism that allows the lid to open and close.
A familiar design for antiques.

Historically, it is believed that it was used to hide poisonous drugs.
There is a theory that it was used for assassinations and suicides in medieval Europe.

The relief of a carpenter bee is engraved on the side, making it not too big and easy to wear.
